Inge Needs To Go

Today the Detroit Tigers announced that Brandon Inge (groin) is headed to the disabled list. That part was not a shock to me. The shock came from what Jim Leyland said, "When Brandon Inge comes off the disabled list, he will start at second base against left-handed pitchers". What?!

How is this possible?

Before spring training started, Leyland stated that Inge had to hit before he could play. "This is what I see from Brandon Inge so far: I think he's actually swung the bat pretty good," Leyland said.  He's hitting .180. Doesn't sound and look like he's swinging the ball well to me. Not only that, but I thought they re-signed Ramon Santiago to play second base.

They need to let Inge go. Stop giving him chance after chance when he has proven that he can't play anymore. Too many fans say that he deserves it, but this is not a lifetime achievement award. This is our year, and if Inge isn't on the team to partake in it, then oh well.
