Roethlisberger released a statement saying that he'll accept the suspension. What else would he do, not accept it and play for the UFL? More to come!
A end to an era?
The Red Wings play Game 7 tonight against the Coyotes at 9pm. If they lose it could be a end to an era. Could Lidstrom retire? Stay Tuned!

The draft is tomorrow at 7:30pm. Most all Lions fans have expressed that they want Ndamukong Suh. But think about this, what if the Rams draft him? What then?

McNabb Trade-Part 2

There are many layers to this Donovan McNabb trade. Other than the obvious attempt to trade him at non peak hours, there’s one other odd storyline. Not only did they trade him inside the division, but they traded him to a rival team. It’s like the Packers trading Brett Favre to the Minnesota Vikings. Over the last few years, the Redskins have been the one team inside the NFC East that the rest of the teams in the division and conference had no worry about. They began to change that around by hiring one of the best respected and talented offensive minds in the NFL, Mike Shanahan. I guess the Eagles decided they wanted to help speed up the Redskins’ rebuilding process by giving them a Hall of Fame QB and take away one of the Redskins draft needs. Just to be a bit frank, this was probably one of the dumbest moves for the Eagles; one they will regret for a very long time. Now the Redskins can focus on either drafting a LT to protect McNabb or focus on getting a dominate DE to rush the QB. They don’t have to worry about wasting three years to develop Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen. This year the Redskins took a different approach to free agency. Year’s past they would go out and sign a big name free agent to the biggest contract ever. It was different this time around. Now the eagles have supplied them with everything they needed and wanted, a QB.

McNabb Trade

If you weren’t paying attention, late last night the Philadelphia Eagles traded Donavan McNabb to the Washington Redskins for a 2nd round pick in this year’s draft and a 3rd or 4th round pick in next year’s draft depending on performance. First of all, the Eagles were extremely slick trading McNabb away when they did. No I’m not talking about the year they traded him or the age at which they traded McNabb. I’m talking about the day and time they chose to accept the trade. They chose to complete the trade on Easter Sunday at 8 PM. People were at home with family eating dessert or at grandma’s house and probably not watching ESPN. Trading McNabb then took away the immediate criticism they would have received if they traded him say today at 3 PM. Most people didn’t even know he was traded until they read this blog. They didn’t just trade him on Sunday, but Andy Reid also held a post-trade press conference. All this went down in about a 3 hour span. Now that sounds to me like it was an orchestrated plan to trade him when they did. The one positive thing is that McNabb gets to face his former team twice a year. The Eagles in the end will regret this trade. More on that later.
